A New Apprentice: Swiftpaw!

Sandstar slinked out of her den with a glint in her eyes. She noticed her entire Clan was present in the camp, and leapt onto a stone jutting high into the air, now overlooking the entire camp and Clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the highstone for a Clan meeting." She said loudly and confidently. Then, quieter, "Swiftkit, please step forward," she motioned her tail toward the foot of the stone, wanting him to stand there.

Swiftkit nodded at Sandstar and walked to the foot of the stone. He stood there confidently, a kitty smile on his face. He was excited. He swished his tail back and forth quickly

"Swiftkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed.From this day on, until you earn your Warrior name, you will be known as Swiftpaw. Your mentor will be Streamsong. I hope she will pass off all she has learned to you. Streamsong, you are ready to take on an Apprentice. You've learned all you can from myself as your mentor, and you've shone yourself to be patient and level-headed. I expect you to pass on these qualities to Swiftpaw."

Streamsong blinked in surprise, but stepped forward, standing in front of Swiftpaw. She lowered her head to his, waiting for him to touch his nose to her own.

Swiftkit, or rather, Swiftpaw, touched his nose to Streamsong's nose. In his mind he was zipping around everywhere happily. In his mind. In his mind. He was now an Apprentice! Which meant that he could be a Warrior! Since the first day he was in camp, he had dreamed of the day.
